I am thrilled, and slightly daunted, to announce the contract signing — together with colleagues: Profs Alani (UAE), Tawfik (UK), and Saeed(UAE) — for an edited book on Applications of Big Data Analytics: Trends, Issues, and Challenges by Springer. This book is aimed to provide an analysis of current trends in the application of big data analytics across diverse industries, including healthcare, marketing and advertisement, management, education, agriculture, government agencies, etc. A key focus of the book would be to uncover issues and challenges that individuals and organizations encounter in the effort to leverage analytics in their discovery and decision making problems. Finally, we hope the book would be a valuable resource for researchers, academics, and data scientists in the design and execution of big data analytics projects, and identify roadmaps to guide businesses, and even individuals, in leveraging big data analytics results, and above all, help define the future research agenda for big data analytics applications.
